Woodland-themed Baby Shower

by Catherine Young of Bumpkin Bears & Friends

I was so delighted when I was recently asked to design some invitations and gift tags based on my Time for an Adventure print for a woodland-themed baby shower.

So much thought went into all the details for this evening baby shower.  The entire room was turned into an enchanting wonderland. Branches were adorned with fairy lights and sparkling crystal tear drops.  Fir cones were turned into Garlands strung across the ceiling along with these felt ball garlands from Made Mary.

Deb’s Cookies provided mushroom-shaped cookies and little heart shaped cookies which were placed in gift bags adorned with Bumpkin Tags, kept company by a curious deer and framed print. Glass domes were filled with moss and little figurines. Owls sat wisely on chairs, with cheeky rabbits and squirrels next to porcelain acorns and collected logs.

A beautiful antique pram escorting a very special family teddy bear took pride of place! Hanging from the pram was this adorable Bird Mobile from Laika Handknits and Crochet.

Walls were decorated with these beautiful fabric wall stickers from Love Mae Store. The great thing about many of these items is that after the shower they were used to decorate the baby boy’s nursery.

As if this wasn’t enough, the food was just delightful. The Something Sweet Cake Studio did a magical job creating cupcakes with butterflies floating atop them and an outstanding cake, almost too beautiful to eat!

Alongside the cake were Owl shaped cookies from Sugar Cookie Couture, extraordinarily realistic mushroom meringues from Pastry Pixie, and delicious Garden Wave Gourmet Brownies from The Cats Meow Favors.

If you’re looking to create a magical baby shower or birthday party, suitable for both boys and girls, try looking to nature for some fun inspiration! And tomorrow Meg from olliegraphic will be sharing a free download so you can print your own invitations for a woodland-themed party.

This looks like it was indeed an enchanting evening! I can’t get over the delightful details of the invitations, and of the cake! And I know that Love Mae does make wonderful fabric wall designs — their fabric alphabet cheers me each day.
Thank you, Catherine, for this lovely article and for including my garlands.
