The big giveaway day is finally here! Over 30 businesses from as far away as Australia and as close to home as Antigonish, Nova Scotia have contributed items to our Oh My! Handmade Holidays Giveaway.
I thought long and hard about how to put together a creative and exciting giveaway that would give back to our readers and the small businesses who have contributed. But I also wanted to raise awareness about the many causes and organizations that are working to make our world a better place to live- and give back to them in some way.
Mix those ideas together and you get the Oh My! Handmade Holidays Giveaway and two covet worthy gift basket prizes filled with handmade goodness and valued at around $950!
Here’s how it works-you can enter this giveaway in two ways (and yes you can do both!):
1. ENTER FOR YOURSELF
Visit at least two of the participating businesses above and leave a comment here about your favorite shops.
Get 3 extra entries by leaving a separate comment for:
- Tweeting about this giveaway using the hashtag #ohmyhandmadeholidays and including @ohmyhandmade in your tweet.
- Posting this giveaway to your Facebook page and tagging @oh my handmade
- Blogging about this giveaway with a link back to this post-please share the link in your comment.
2. ENTER FOR OTHERS
Do you know of a shelter for women, an environmental group, a organization feeding the hungry, an art program for inner city kids, or another cause that could use a little financial boost?
Here is your chance to nominate up to 5 non-profits, charities or organizations that would benefit from the chance to auction or raffle off one of these prizes as a fundraiser. The winning organization will have the prize shipped directly to them.
To enter your cause simply comment with the name and website of the groups you are nominating. Get all your friends/family/co-workers to nominate the same group to increase their chances of winning!

Id like to nominate Friends for Refugees http://www.friendsforrefugees.ca
i really like the prints at shopnoisette and doodle kreations!
By the way, I posted this on my Facebook profile last week as well!
I’d also like to nominate an environmental non-profit in Nova Scotia called the Ecology Action Centre. They do amazing work, and with the economy as it is, funding is tight. Having this as an auction item could be a huge help!
I absolutely love the ideal planner concept and sweet harvey’s designs are simple and cute!
I like it. Wonderful!

Oh, good grief! To choose just two among these lovelies in a task in itself! I especially am drawn to the Inskspot creations and the Pink Panda fabrics. Both are new to me and are creativity inspiring. Thanks for the chance-
The Panda Fabrics stand out to me, so beautiful! Loved some of the fiber related products. Far to much to choose only two there’s something for everyone!
I like “Sweet Harvey”- especially those lovely shawls! And “Magpie Patterns” has also nice stuff.
That’s the ones I like the best so far- I will go on to explore the other links too.
I absolutely love the animal patterns from Magpie Patterns and the acorn print from Noisette. Everything is wonderful, and any one thing from either of these baskets would put a smile on my face.
Oh my — how to pick just 2 favorites!?? I love all of this!! However, I have loved Sarah + Abraham for a while now, and my heart went aflutter when I saw the ADORABLE prints at Bumpkin Bears & Friends! Pick me! Pick me!
Love Sarah & Abraham…and Bumpkin and if I don’t win, I’ll be ordering anyway 🙂
Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
love the sarah+abraham stationary and the magpie patterns!
I love Pink Panda Fabrics – they always have the cutest designs!
Those little skirts from New Jersey Knits are adorable – great list of stores and an amazing giveaway!

it was very difficult to choose my favorite shops. the texting gloves from issaino (http://www.etsy.com/listing/61804010/sima-texting-gloves-red) are all the rage and would come in handy since i text constantly! i am always in need of new supplies for crafting up and pink panda fabrics (http://www.pinkpandafabrics.com/) sells Kokka and some of my other favorite fabric lines as well, so a gift certificate to their shop would me amazing.

The Mount Uniacke Wishgivers help those in need in our community. It is amazing to see the amount of people that come out at the Christmas time fundraiser. They don’t have a website that I could find but here is some info that I could find in the local newsletter. http://www.uniacke.org/content/view/3115/4/
What a fantastic bunch of goodies you have put together, and I love the “pay it forward” idea of helping out needy charities over the holidays, well done!
I have been cruising the vendors sites and having a great time seeing how talented they all are! Sweet Harvey has a jersey scarf that I have a feeling I will be purchasing shortly, and the adorable alphabet shaped crayons at Crayon Couture would help my little kiddo learn her letters and doodle at the same time!
Thanks so much for sharing these great vendors. Merry Christmas!
Jennifer
I also tweeted for you, (@canadahandmade).
Keep up the great work!

My hometown of St. George, New Brunswick was recently flooded when the area received over 170mm of rain. The Maguagadavic River, which runs through town, was higher than it has ever been in living memory. I’ve been sitting, high and dry in my home in Nova Scotia, looking at photos of friends’ homes under water.
I’m planning to send donations home with my dad after the holidays: http://www.town.stgeorge.nb.ca/pdfs%20and%20downloads/FLOOD%20RELIEF%20INFORMATION.pdf
They are all so super lovely, I have just spent precious “getting ready for the dinner tonight” time checking them out.I Sweet Harvey (love the name) and magpie patterns are my faves.
