GIVEAWAY: Oh My! Handmade Holidays Giveaway

handmade holidays giveaway, oh my handmade

The big giveaway day is finally here! Over 30 businesses from as far away as Australia and as close to home as Antigonish, Nova Scotia have contributed items to our Oh My! Handmade Holidays Giveaway.

Iย  thought long and hard about how to put together a creative and exciting giveaway that would give back to our readers and the small businesses who have contributed.ย  But I also wanted to raise awareness about the many causes and organizations that are working to make our world a better place to live- and give back to them in some way.

Mix those ideas together and you get the Oh My! Handmade Holidays Giveaway and two covet worthy gift basket prizes filled with handmade goodness and valued at around $950!

Wow! so much to love, where to begin?!?! The foxes screen printed on tea towels really got me from Sweet Harvey… might need to go order some of them! The quilts by Maken are gorgeous! (always wanted to learn how to quilt, maybe I will be inspired now!) and the Sima texting gloves would be well loved by my sister if I could bear to give them as a gift!

  2. Abbeh says:

Here I am literally foaming at the mouth about the handmade crayons! Look at those adorably cute colors – I hardly use crayons, but I would make an exception for those beauties. And O Happy Day’s felt dollies are adorable – I wonder how long it would take for my cat to eat them ๐Ÿ˜›

I’m going to link this to my facebook :]

  3. Crysta says:

This is all so amazing. I am already in love with Magpie – the knits she has in the shop make me want to quit my job and spend the rest of my life knitting gorgeous luxe presents! ๐Ÿ™‚

Going to each of these shops is going to take me all night, and I can’t wait. ๐Ÿ™‚ Three down, so many more to go!

  4. OK – this is an amazing giveaway! I have loved Sarah and Abraham for awhile and have found out about Oh Happy Day Handmade because of the giveaway. They are both so very talented!

I have also tweeted you and posted your giveaway on my Facebook page!

    my username is @hopelovescards

  6. Becca says:

We run a mentoring program for a ministry called Vision Atlanta mentoring (www.visionatlanta.org) and there’s one family we work with who could REALLY use some love and cheering up this year . . . I would LOVE the chance to offer them this gift!

  7. Karrie says:

The baskets looks amazing! There are so many great shops to choose from! I particularly love the crochet glovs from Issa Ino and everthing from Sugarsticks Parties! Merry Christmas and good luck to all! ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for the opportunity to enter for these fab prizes!

  8. Tia Thomas says:

I LOVE anything by Sugarstick Parties! I have followed them on facebook for several months and they have such great designs! I also really love the items in Isso Ino’s store – the red texting gloves are just what I need! I have been wanting some anyway!

  9. Can I nominate a Danish organization?

    The Danish Society for the chronic illness Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome could use a portion of goodies for the raffle at the annual meet-up in May;
the tombola is one of our ways to get a bit of extra funding, and it is usually great fun for all the participants, too. ๐Ÿ™‚ And such a basket of fun, colour and play would really spice up our winnings – and provide laughs and creativity for EDS’ers of all ages, too.

I would like to nominate CHERUBS – the Association for Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia Awareness, Research & Family Support.

This is an amazing group of people, created and run by families affected by CDH. My son was diagnosed with this condition & his life taken by it after 10 hours of life. There is no known cause for CDH.

This would help CHERUBS to raise much needed funds for families & research.

    Thank you for this opportunity!

  19. Liz Barnes says:

I love Redraven’s jewelry. Such detailed, beautiful pieces.

Crayon Couture has the most unique homemade items. I little girls , who are preschool age, would go CRAZY if I showed them this site. When I need a gift that is like no other, I’ll be shopping with Crayon Couture.

I love the idea of one-stop shopping at Sugarsticks Parties.

Pink Panda fabrics not only has amazing selection, but also great prices. I was like a kid in a candy store, going thru all the fabrics.

I’ve also added a comment on my facebook page, tagging Oh My! Handmade.

    Best of luck, all.

Thanks so much for this AMAZING give-away! What awesome prizes. ๐Ÿ™‚

  20. Lisa Craven says:

I love the Rainbow Baby Quilt & wine holders at Maken Designs, the Garden Roses Personalized Note Cards at Leen Machine, and the Christmas Greeting Cards- Elves at work – 5 cards from Doodle Creations. Everyone has such lovely things in their shops!

  21. Kelly K. says:

I would like to nominate the Allegan Animal Shelter. My sister-in-law runs the shelter and is expecting her first baby in March and won’t be returning to work after that. The shelter is VERY short on cash and she doesn’t know if they will even replace her after she is gone. She has been crying over what will happen when she leaves. This basket would be such a wonderful last thing she could give to the place she loves so much. She would do a lot of good with it for all those animals!

    What a great basket!

I’d also like to nominate Friends for Refugees (www.FriendsForRefugees.ca) a non-political community group that brought a family from a Syrian refugee camp to live in Halifax.

    Thanks!

  26. muffinhead says:

By the way, I posted this on my Facebook profile last week as well!

I’d also like to nominate an environmental non-profit in Nova Scotia called the Ecology Action Centre. They do amazing work, and with the economy as it is, funding is tight. Having this as an auction item could be a huge help!

  27. Jane says:

Oh, good grief! To choose just two among these lovelies in a task in itself! I especially am drawn to the Inskspot creations and the Pink Panda fabrics. Both are new to me and are creativity inspiring. Thanks for the chance-

  28. courtney says:

Oh my — how to pick just 2 favorites!?? I love all of this!! However, I have loved Sarah + Abraham for a while now, and my heart went aflutter when I saw the ADORABLE prints at Bumpkin Bears & Friends! Pick me! Pick me!

  29. Sarah says:

wow, the scope of this giveaway is truly awe- inspiring!!

it was very difficult to choose my favorite shops. the texting gloves from issaino (http://www.etsy.com/listing/61804010/sima-texting-gloves-red) are all the rage and would come in handy since i text constantly! i am always in need of new supplies for crafting up and pink panda fabrics (http://www.pinkpandafabrics.com/) sells Kokka and some of my other favorite fabric lines as well, so a gift certificate to their shop would me amazing.

    wish me luck folks!

  30. Sissy says:

These are all wonderful stores, some I knew about and several I didn’t. I have my eye on several patterns at Magpie patterns and Sarah + Abraham is a great shop as well. Great looking baskets, thanks for you hard work!

  31. Jennifer says:

What a fantastic bunch of goodies you have put together, and I love the “pay it forward” idea of helping out needy charities over the holidays, well done!
I have been cruising the vendors sites and having a great time seeing how talented they all are! Sweet Harvey has a jersey scarf that I have a feeling I will be purchasing shortly, and the adorable alphabet shaped crayons at Crayon Couture would help my little kiddo learn her letters and doodle at the same time!
Thanks so much for sharing these great vendors. Merry Christmas!
    Jennifer

  32. Steph VW says:

My hometown of St. George, New Brunswick was recently flooded when the area received over 170mm of rain. The Maguagadavic River, which runs through town, was higher than it has ever been in living memory. I’ve been sitting, high and dry in my home in Nova Scotia, looking at photos of friends’ homes under water.

I’m planning to send donations home with my dad after the holidays: http://www.town.stgeorge.nb.ca/pdfs%20and%20downloads/FLOOD%20RELIEF%20INFORMATION.pdf

  33. heather says:
