Calling all artists, designers and handmade enthusiasts: you may not know it yet, but guess what? This is YOUR year to shine online with a gorgeous site or blog – and The Girl’s Guide to Web Design is going to help you do it!
The Girl’s Guide to Web Design is a fun and feisty online video training course specifically designed for creative women who want to learn super-empowering web, graphic design and coding skills in a friendly, non-intimidating way. Past students have called the course “life-changing” , “brilliant”, “a fabulous investment in myself”, and “worth every penny” – and it could be the same for you in 2012. Don’t forget to read through to the end of this post to find out how you could win your spot in the course, totally free!
So, who’s the course for? Well, maybe you already have a blog or site and want to dress it up so that it’s less cookie-cutter and more amazingly “you”. Or maybe you’ve got a business or a project you want to get off the ground, but you feel “stuck” about getting started on your blog or website for it – because you secretly worry you could never make the finished product as lovely as you envision it to be in your imagination. Or maybe you’re a graphic designer, and you want to learn how to take your creations and transform them into living, breathing, honest-to-goodness websites for your clients. No matter which of these sounds like you, GG2WD has you covered.
When you enroll in The Girl’s Guide to Web Design, you’ll learn all the skills you need to get a site or blog that looks EXACTLY how you want it to look. Instructor Amanda Aitken (a 16-year web design veteran who loves chocolate mousse and all things magical) will teach you how to make and customize a stunning, WordPress-based site or blog through upbeat training in graphic design (no Photoshop required!), HTML, and CSS. And you’ll even learn SEO and online marketing tricks.
There are two versions of the course to choose from: Jetsetter and First Class. If you like to learn at your own pace and want to start soaking up knowledge thisverysecond, Jetsetter has your name all over it (enrollment is open on an ongoing basis). But if you’d prefer some extra hand-holding and personalized support while you’re learning to code, First Class is probably right for you. The next First Class session kicks off on January 30th, and there are limited spots available (a large portion have already been snapped up), so you’ll need to act fast if you want in.
To get the full scoop on both versions of the course, visit here. If you sign up for either version of the course between now and January 29th, Amanda will send you a collection of inspiring bonuses (from some of the coolest creative influencers on the internet) to complement the skills you’ll learn in The Girl’s Guide to Web Design. It’s all part of the Magical Mystery Bonus tour-get all the juicy details right here.
And one final note: even if your pocketbook is feeling a little on the light side after the holidays, there’s still hope for you to learn web design this year! Just put together a blog post or video, and you’ll be set to enter the Girl’s Guide to Web Design First Annual Scholarship Contest. Amanda is giving away FREE SPOTS in the course to 3 lucky ladies who enter between now and January 25th. Go to http://bit.ly/girlsguidecontest for all the details and to enter.
