Starting something grand requires doing this first

end sex trafficking day, erin giles

As entrepreneurs, we have a life changing vision for what our business can bring to the world, right?!

You have your mission statement, your logo, your website…and you wait. You wait for the clients, you wait for the traffic, you wait for the life changing to begin.

You think did I miss something? Did I choose the wrong picture for my header? Did I word that phrase wrong or choose the wrong domain? Chances are no. You may have did what I did and forgotten one major component of starting something grand.

Asking for help.

Sure, you stop by to read Oh My! Handmade posts every week and you get tons of help here…but have you really reached out to those in the position you want to be in in your business or your loved ones and asked them for help? You could ask them for advice, possible contacts, pro bono client referrals or ad space.

Your help is out there. Trust me, I have recently learned this lesson like no other.

I am spearheading a project called End Sex Trafficking Day. And I have needed a huge amount of help. Help with the website, a script for the site video, help raising money so that the book can be published, help getting the word out…and every time I hit send, the courage I spent to do it came back 10 fold with someone wanting and excited to help.

So if you have needed a shove or just a firm kick in the butt…here it is. Write down on paper what you need help with? Where are you stuck? And next, who can help and how? Look through your address book, your facebook friends, twitter followers and maybe even your neighbors. You never know who knows who and how they could help you to change the world with your business dream.

And now, I am asking for your help. I need it, in order to help one non profit find, free, and educate some of the 27 million women and children that are in modern day slavery known as sex trafficking. We have 60 essays from 60 amazing writers, including Seth Godin, Danielle La Porte, Jonathan Fields, Jessika Hepburn and April Bowles-Olin, these essays will come together to form one book and sell for $20 in September. I have been on this journey for the last 22 days, and have raised over $6500, if 133 people give just $25 in the next 8 days we’ll reach our goal!

Give in the name of LOVE, give in the name of FREEDOM, give in the name of changing the WORLD.

Please give any amount by clicking HERE.
