February art by Golden Section/Yuliyart on Etsy
Whether Valentine’s Day makes your heart melt or the sappiness makes you feel queasy, there is no escaping Love Day in North America. Rather then avoiding it we are loving it up this month with our February theme! Not containing ourselves to romantic love, for the next 29 days we will explore all the things we adore, from lovely handmade, to checking stuff off our to-do lists, to leaps into the unknown. You might see sweetness, cupids and a healthy dose of pink + red this month but you will also be getting posts straight from the heart about what we love most.
Do you have a love story to share? What makes your heart pitter pat? Working on a lovely project for Love Day? Tell all in the comments & we’ll send our love rays out into the world this month together. Care Bear countdown anyone?
Love the swans! Once I gave my husband 2 geese for Valentine’s Day. They lived a long time, in love, but then the female died. From that point on the male thought my husband was his new wife and was jealous of me! I am working on new “pocket playsilks” if anyone wants to give me feedback on them they are on our Facebook page.http://www.facebook.com/sarahssilks?ref=tn_tnmn
Thanks for all your great articles Jessika!!
I love crocheting gifts for friends and family, and teaching people how to crochet! For Christmas I made a giant blanket for my Hunny Bunny. The blanket was featured on Joy of All Crafts in January which I’m still giddy about http://www.joyofallcrafts.com/2012/01/kaseys-croquet-blanket-share-diy-love.html.
Can’t wait to see all the love this month!
I put a post up on my blog about what makes my heart go pitter pat. You can check it out at http://www.RocajoStudio.blogspot.com.
Here’s a little preview:
Paper and fabric and sparkle and glitter
Sewing and glueing and new things like Twitter
A supportive community giving me wings
These are a few of my favorite things
It works better when you have the ‘My favorite things’ tune from the Sound of Music in mind…
Care Bare countdown! Nostalgia! Love it! 🙂
I’m working on a fun little Valentine’s campaign with free printables to download & print called “Local Love Notes”. Its all about leaving a love note at your favorite hangout, inside your favorite book or even for your favorite cafe barista to find!
Its really a fun little activity – I love leaving little cards in all my favorite places in Halifax 🙂
