Making a good life since 2010

My New Year Fairy of Businessy Goodness

Thursday, January 3, 2013 by Lisa White

I hate the word resolution! Most of the time, I can never think of good ones anyway. It’s usually like loose weight, eat healthy, make more money, etc….very generic and not motivating at all! Even if I call them “goals” it’s hard to really be inspired enough to keep up with them.

I knew this year things needed to be different. You see, 2013 is a special number to me. It’s my first child’s birthday (02-13) and unlike most people, the number 13 has always been lucky for me. So I just KNOW it’s going to be awesome…now I just needed a little extra mojo to put behind it. 😉

That is where Leonie Dawson (aka The New Year Fairy of Businessy Goodness) comes in. Oh, that’s not her actual title but one that I feel fits her perfectly! Leonie transforms businesses and lives through inspiration and concrete thought. I have been following her blog for about 6 months when I saw she offered a “2013 Create Your Incredible Year Workbook Planner“. I know there are A LOT of business/life coaches out there and they each offer their own unique take on getting you on the path you are suppose to be. Leonie is all about using inspiration to help the seed of an idea you have to development and grow into something that is pure awesome. I love that she doesn’t shun making money and instead wants to encourage to make a difference with all that cash you are going to rake in!

I have to admit that I didn’t really “get” the planner until I sat down and started to fill it out. It was like clarity struck and suddenly everything in my business and my goals for 2013 made a ton more sense. All the bullshit (pardon my french) was gone and instead there was an actual plan…one I could put into my calendar and keep up with! I can now look at my goals throughout the year and measure where I am and where I am going. It is a good feeling my friends!

I truly believe that each year gives us a chance to start fresh, create goals and a plan that will help us to reach the place we want to be. While it is different for everyone, the process can still be the same. 🙂

Ok, so now get your booties over to Leonie’s website and grab your copy of “2013 Create Your Incredible Year Workbook + Planner“! She also has a life version, which is the next purchase on my list!

PS – I have to let you guys know that we launched our new brand for Moxie Pear on January 1st and the response so far has been pretty awesome! We are still putting the final touches on the DIY web design part of things…our launch date is scheduled right before my 35th birthday (January 18th)!

Care/Carry/Cure an essay from ‘You Care Too Much’

In June of 2016 I supported my love Chris as we dealt with the death of both his parents and a co-worker over a three week period. This essay written the summer of those deaths is my attempt to make sense of grief and the struggle to carry all that I care for. Originally published […]
