My name is Amelia and I am a composer, entrepreneur, and musician. I am in the midst of recording a double album project – one for kids & one for grown-ups. This project is highly inspired by my mum, a quilt artist – when I was 7 she encouraged me to continue playing piano by letting me pick out a square of fabric every time I practiced. By the time my first recital came around, she presented me with a finished quilt – all of the squares had the songs embroidered on them, along with both our names, and the year – 1989!
Now, I’m passing this cherished creative exchange on to my friends, fans, and communities everywhere. We are doing this through the making of a double album project, and a global community quilt using the crowd-sourcing platform, Indiegogo. Contributors who donate to my album project will be given the tools to design their own fabric inspired by “what does music mean to you?” When sent back to us, we’ll combine these swatches with others and make it into a beautiful quilt. This will be our visual pledge to inspire generations and make voices heard through music and art!

What is the “Double Album Project”?
The Double Album Project is the debut release of my two music lives: one as a children’s music performer, and another as a grown-up music siren. My music explores identity, love, family, and encourages individuality within a larger community through growth and development. I strive to bring people together, break age barriers, and inspire generations.
Why two? Why now?
A) Balance. I need both halves of my music to make me whole.
B) One of my songs has just been selected by Michelle Obama’s Partnership for a Healthier America and Hip Hop Public Health to appear on a cross-genre kids album, Songs for a Healthier America promoting nutrition and exercise in youth across the nation. I’ll be joining the ranks of Doug E. Fresh, Jordin Sparks, Ashanti, and Matisyahu who have also contributed tracks to the cause.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime window of opportunity! Now is the crucial time to produce an industry-standard product and get my music out there!
The COMMUNITY plays such a large role in my work, so I wanted to use this chance to bring people together through music AND art, too. As a contributor you’ll not only get first dibs on my albums, but you’ll be given the tools to share your creative self through through the making of a community quilt.
This is a collaborative effort and we need each other now more than ever! Your participation can help us all leave a legacy and a lasting impact in the arts. Together, we can build safe and supportive places for our families and ourselves to share music with the ones we love.

Amelia Robinson is a Suzuki trained pianist, vocalist (and more recently e-ukulele-ist) who has performed at Lincoln Center, The Tribeca Film Festival, The Brooklyn Public Library, Children’s Museum of Manhattan, Rockwood Music Hall, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and at Carnegie Hall alongside Marvin Hamlisch. She has also appeared live on BBC Radio 1. As a composer, Amelia has worked with award winning British composer, Michael Nyman, the London Symphony Orchestra, and premiered her multi-media orchestral piece for massed bicycle bells, The Cycle Symphony, at London’s East End Film Festival in 2011.
Her work has been recommended by New York Times, New York Magazine, Time Out NY & London (Critic’s Choice), Brooklyn Parent Magazine, and AOL’s Patch.
