Thanks to a modern love of typography, inspirational art is now a beautiful thing. Gone are those motivational posters from your high school guidance counsellor’s office (you know the ones) and in their place, art which looks as good as it feels.

How about you? Do you surround yourself with inspiring art or focus words?

  1. Marisa…oh I love this! Thank you so much for adding my recycled “fly” to this inspiration board.

    I am reading this over my morning coffee and it is a great way to start my day. So much wisdom here…especially “an essential aspect of creativity is not being afraid to fail”. So, so true…..

    I am teaching a high school art class today on altering books. I will share the wisdom I found here.

    Such a great roundup, Marisa! These are all great in their own style & meaning… I can’t seem to get “just keep swimming” (from the chat last week) out of my head and it’s been surprisingly helpful & motivating during this weirdly heavy week. Thanks again!

    Oh Marisa what a great collection. Thanks so much for including my print. Sitting here in a very chilly London town on a very grey day it’s so fabulous to read these inspiring words. Must be off now to put on my snow boots! x

    @Colleen – I love your work and so was so happy to be able to include a piece! Plus I have a bit of a love affair with cursive f’s (they’re ever so fun to write)

    @Sarah – that’s a great print / sentiment! Thanks for sharing!

    @Geri – thanks! “just keep swimming” definitely works for those weeks when it just feels like you’re dragging yourself through!

  5. Great inspiration! Thanks Marisa. I have used quotes in my mixed media and graphic designs for years. Beautiful type and inspiring words are art to me.

    btw – my all time favourite quote is “Enjoy life. This is not a dress rehearsal.”

    This was a fabulous post ; I usually use these to help kick off my day. They’re also great for using on a vision board, and help you focus on the good things about life. They’re also like mental cues to help train your mind to think positively.I have a lot of quotes running around in my head, but I guess the one that I live by would be ‘Be True to Yourself.’
