Free as a bird! I snapped this picture on a lovely foggy day on a quiet beach near Aquinnah, on Martha’s Vineyard. A long winding beach trail led us to the secluded rocky beach where we walked and talked and played. Later that day we ate lobster in a little fishing village–sitting outside watching the fishing boats come in to the harbor. We spent a glorious week in an adorable pink cottage, just the four of us. It was the very first time we went on a whole week long vacation with just our little family unit. Gloriously ‘not-busy’ we read, went for walks, napped, rocked in rocking chairs, cuddled, and reconnected with one another..as we disconnected from the rest of the world.
A huge thank you to April Heather Davulcu of April Heather Art for submitting this uplifting Postcard from Camp – it is impossible not to smile at this photo!
Such a great shot!
Beautiful photo, Heather…I knew it was your daughter before I saw the article. Her spirit is evident in much of your work. <3 Nothing better than disconnecting + reconnecting. The perspective gained is so very valuable.
Like a bird! You truly captured a moment in the life of a very free spirit! Just adore this….
