August Road Trip with OMHG (& Etsy!)

Friday, August 1, 2014 by Jessika Hepburn

In case you missed the big news OMHG is tagging along with Etsy.com, the online marketplace for handmade and vintage goods, on it’s first-ever road trip in a 30-foot custom AirStream to launch #EtsyRoadTrip, a four-city Canadian tour. From August 1 to 9, mobile marketplaces will pop-up in Montreal, Ottawa, Kingston and Toronto featuring Etsy sellers, musicians and local food trucks alongside concerts, product giveaways and more. This AirStream and the surrounding area it parks in will be completely ‘Etsy-fied,’with everything from a photo booth, decorated in bunting, gingham, balloons, handmade felt-cactuses and more!

Locals will have the chance to meet and mingle with some of their favourite sellers while shopping their one-of-a-kind pieces on the spot. Cruise along with us as we travel the open road by following #EtsyRoadTrip on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, or by visiting etsy.me/roadtrip for the full program schedule.

Adding to the fun Darice and I are meeting for the first time and travelling together without kiddos for 9 days meeting up with OMHG friends and makers along the way. Also Canadian personalities Dani Renynolds (MTVFora); Krystin Lee (Suburban FauxPas); Lolitta Dandoy (FashionIsEverywhere); and Hawley Dunbar (SidewalkHustle) will accompany Etsy on the road trip, staying overnight in accommodations provided by partner Airbnb and sharing our experiences via a travelogue.

Darice took the lead on planning our trip and found us so many sweet places to stay from a brownstone in Toronto’s Kensington Market to an urban cottage in Kingston! We’d love to have the chance to meet up with you at any of our road trip stops & hear your suggestions on where we should stop on our trip so be sure to comment here or let us know on social media so we can connect!
