Oh My! Handmade

Making a good life since 2010

I Wish You A Merry Everything!

Sunday, December 23, 2012 by Jessika Hepburn

oh my handmade, tidings of comfort & joy, handmade angel tree topper

I wonder where you are right now-is it somewhere  cold, and full of sparkly winter magic? Or somewhere with palm trees in the sun? No matter where, how, what, or if, you celebrate this time of year I hope you are surrounded by love and have everything you need. I wish that you and your families are warm, safe, happy, healthy, and whole. I hope that there is food in the fridge, joy in your work, and your days always include laughter and wonder (plus no shortage of hugs). I am so blessed to have these gifts and if only I could borrow Santa’s magical ability to visit everyone in a night, I would wrap and put it under every tree!

Life has gotten so busy for us this year and since we are living in a furnished rental with all our stuff in storage we held off getting a tree until the very last minute. I’ve also not turned into a mad Christmas crafting elf since my crafty stuff is mostly put away or baked like a maniac since it isn’t my kitchen. All of this has been good for us! Last year we had a holiday extravaganza for my mama’s 50th with this glittery tree and we packed A LOT of celebration and bigness into last Monday & Tuesday. Slowing down to focus on just two days of cozy Christmas and wearing fuzzy slippers sounds just about right to me.

So we are taking wee break while I make some holiday magic with our family but we’ll get back to regular postings on December 27th. While things are quiet here I am sending my wishes and tidings of goodness your way-have a very merry everything my friends!

Now bring me some figgy pudding!

And I would love to know in the comments-how, what, where are you celebrating the season?

Care/Carry/Cure an essay from ‘You Care Too Much’

In June of 2016 I supported my love Chris as we dealt with the death of both his parents and a co-worker over a three week period. This essay written the summer of those deaths is my attempt to make sense of grief and the struggle to carry all that I care for. Originally published […]
