Let’s spread gratitude through creativity

Monday, March 24, 2014 by Oh My! Guest

thankyou

Hey there OMHG community! My name is Sydney and I’d love to tell you a bit about my passion project: thxproject.

What is thxproject?

Thxproject (Thanks Project) is a blog showcasing art which conveys thanks, submitted or featured by creatives like you! The goal is to show off some awesome artwork, and spread thanks while we do it. Thxproject is fuelled by the notion that cultivating gratitude has positive effect on well-being, and reminds us of what is important.

Thxproject was just launched on March 20th, and now that the site is live, it’s time to start spreading thanks!

With that being said: I have a little challenge for you.

I know this community is full of awesome artists of all different aspects and I say it’s time to put our artistic super powers towards the greater good. Let’s focus our creativity on spreading some gratitude. We all have things in our lives that we are thankful for, let’s use that as creative inspiration. Who or what are you thankful for?

Here’s the challenge:

create something that conveys gratitude. It can be anything: a thank you note, a letter, a poem, a photo, a song, a painting, an interpretative dance, anything! If you create the art for someone, give it to them.

If you want to submit your art to thxproject or if you want more information about the project, don’t hesitate to check out http://thxproject.com or email info@thxproject.com. Thxproject is completely non-profit. All featured artists will receive attribution and retain complete ownership and copyright of their submitted work (no artwork is featured without artist consent).

Let’s get that gratitude flowing!

Care/Carry/Cure an essay from ‘You Care Too Much’

In June of 2016 I supported my love Chris as we dealt with the death of both his parents and a co-worker over a three week period. This essay written the summer of those deaths is my attempt to make sense of grief and the struggle to carry all that I care for. Originally published […]
