#OMHG – July 5: Oh My! Awesome

Saturday, July 7, 2012 by Geri Jewitt

Our TweetChat from last Thursday was kicked off by lots and lots of birthday/anniversary wishes for Jess (and OMHG) for celebrating her 2nd birthday as the Editor of Oh My! Handmade Goodness website and, true to our love of community, we also gave birthday wishes to Isa from NoisetteAcademy.

Then, we spent the next hour celebrating with a virtual party to plot & plan the future of the fantabulous #OMHG community… if you have ideas of what you would like to see here or if you think any of the suggestions below are awesome be sure to let us know in the comments!

So its my 2nd birthday as editor & I would love to know-what do you want to see on OMHG, topics, themes, contributors, products?

  • nisseworks @ohmyhandmade I’d love to see more DIY business stuff – like how to make your own stamps, labels, that sort of thing. #omhg
  • Georgina_Giles @ohmyhandmade I would love advice on how to find the perfect stockists for my work and how to approach them! #omhg
  • InkandDirt Yes! RT @ohmyhandmade: Would you like to see more regular articles in addition to our themes? Like a monthly font round up etc? #omhg
  • ohmyhandmade @anile will be doing a regular graphics column starting this month! An ask for advice style post that will be really fun! #omhg
  • designcoyote @storyofmum #OMHG TV! Now there’s an excellent idea! Who wouldn’t love an @ohmyhandmade video/podcast? Love it!
  • RocajoStudio Could we make a kind of time-lapse video with all of omhg community members? Just a frame of us + a little about our business? #omhg
  • PetiteTuques I;d love to see a theme about one particular craft, whether it’s knitting or crochet, or jewelrymaking or cardmaking.. #omhg
  • storyofmum How about a virtual ‘open studio’ to see each other ‘at work’ that public can ‘visit’ too – rolling Skype or kind of craft roulette?? #omhg
  • TrashN2Tees anyone interested in SEO, getting found, key words- that type of thing? #omhg
  • thelanguidlion How about the “art of handmade”? Get down to the brass tacks of the why we do it, our true love of it vs big-box commercialization… #omhg
  • InkandDirt What about a virtual assistant section? Peeps willing to help with small tasks, etc. #omhg
  • studioroseflash I’d love to see a hero month, or a aspiring to be or a «great people» or nominate someone in our online community.. #throwingideas #omhg

Are there any contributors/#omhg co-hosts you would like me to reach out to & rope into our community?

  • MeetTheCohens @ohmyhandmade I don’t think she does interviews/contributions but my all times dream interview would be Keri Smith, she is my hero #omhg
  • JoyCharde @cupcakes4clara @ohmyhandmade @tiffsilverberg It would be great to hear the voices behind the twitter profile pics 🙂 #omhg
