Oh My! Handmade

Oh My! Handmade

Making a good life since 2010

Buy good things from real people!

Wednesday, August 27, 2014 by Jessika Hepburn

This August OMHG packed up and ran away from home to join in on the first ever Etsy Road Trip! From Montreal to Ottawa, Kingston, and Toronto we got to travel Canada meeting lovely makers, falling in love with local neighbourhoods by staying in awesome Airbnb’s and spreading the handmade love. Check out this sweet road trip video of our adventures made by the talented crew at Brought To You By (watch closely for a guest appearance from me!), visit the Travel Log for notes from the road and read through the road trip dispatches:

  • Stop 1: Bonjour Montreal!

  • Stop 2: Hello Kingston & Ottawa

  • Stop 3: Hola Toronto!

This wasn’t a sponsored adventure-Etsy Canada asked if I’d like to tag along so of course I said heck yes- my beloved Canada, handmade goodness, and 9 days of road tripping with Darice, an OMHG best friend? Heaven. A big thanks to Airbnb and Etsy, let’s do it again sometime soon! I’m also excited to share that OMHG will be co-presenting and helping to organize the Halifax edition of Made in Canada. I am feeling very honoured to support local makers and thankful for these brilliant opportunities here at home!

If you could head anywhere for a 9 day road trip where would you go? What makers of awesome would you visit and support? Tell us in the comments, who knows-maybe we’ll be heading there next!
