Project: The Biscuit Eater Cafe & Books
From 2016-2022 my family owned and operated a rural cafe and bookstore with a focus on community care. I commissioned illustrator Kat Frick Miller to illustrate our building that was built in 1775 and one of the oldest in town. I designed all the branding, marketing materials, decor, signage, menus and photography as well as running the kitchen, hosting community events, and managing the ordering, display and marketing of books by Black, Indigenous and racialized authors. Winner of 2021 Taste of Nova Scotia Restaurant of the Year award. Design, marketing, and self-publication of The Biscuit Eater In The Garden Cookbook, re-released and expanded in 2025.
Dates: 2016-2025
